Monique Wolanin:
Director of Women’s Athletic and Leadership Development

Monique attended Pomfret School and was the recipient of the Headmaster’s Award for outstanding contributions in academics, athletics and community service. Upon graduating, Monique attended Brown University where she was the Captain of the varsity women’s lacrosse team, was a four time selection to the All Ivy Team, a two time All American Award winner and was the recipient of the Brown University Distinguished Athlete Award.

Monique graduated from Brown in 1991 and has spent her entire career teaching, coaching and mentoring high school student athletes. Monique taught Algebra and U.S. History, served as a dorm parent and coached the varsity women’s lacrosse and cross country teams at Pomfret School from 1992- 2004. During this time, Monique also served as both the Pomfret School Director of Admissions where she interviewed and assessed thousands of applicants for admission and also the Director of Financial Aid, responsible for allocating a $1.5 million dollar financial aid budget. Monique went on to become the Director of Development at Marianapolis Prep School and the Director of College Development at Quinebaug Valley Community College.

Monique received her Masters of Education from Harvard University in 1999 and was inducted into the Brown University Hall of Fame in 2001. She is married and has three sons.

 

Bryant Mitchell:
Director of Men’s Athletic and Leadership Development

After graduating from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA Bryant attended The University of New Hampshire. As a football “walk on” he earned a full scholarship and became a starting wide receiver while earning a B.S. in Business Administration.

Upon graduation Bryant worked for Fitcorp Fitness Centers, a corporate fitness and wellness company in Boston, MA. In 10 years with Fitcorp Bryant was promoted to various management positions, ultimately serving as their Director of Operations. While at Fitcorp, Bryant earned his MBA from Babson’s Olin School of Business.

In 2008, Bryant was hired as Director of Business Operations for Athletes’ Performance and help them launch Core Performance Center – a new fitness venture in Santa Monica, CA.

Bryant joined The Program in early 2009 as Director of Men’s Athletic and Leadership Development. Bryant is an avid competitor in sprint triathlons and recently completed the San Antonio Marathon. He and his wife, Abby, currently reside in Amesbury, MA.

 

 

Pat Downey:
Director of Operations, Football

Pat grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts and attended Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, MA. At Fenwick, Pat was an MVP and Two-Time All-Star in Football and Track & Field. Pat is a school record holder in the Shot Put, and was recently named to the Bishop Fenwick Football All-Decade Team.

After Fenwick, Pat the University of New Hampshire to play football. At UNH, Pat was a 4-Year Starter at Center for the Wildcats and was named Captain of the 1997 UNH Football Team that won the Atlantic-10 North Division. Pat was named First Team All-East, First Team All-New England and First Team All-Atlantic 10 for his accomplishments on the Gridiron.

In 1998, Pat signed with the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL) as an Undrafted Free Agent. After a short stint with the Chargers, Pat would go onto have a seven year Pro Football career with the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots and in the NFL Europe and Arena Football Leagues.

After retiring from Pro Football in 2004, Pat was named Assistant Head Coach of Jon Bon Jovi’s Philadelphia Soul in the Arena Football League where he helped guide the Soul to their first winning season in franchise history, and two consecutive AFL Play-Off appearances.

Pat currently lives in Swampscott, MA. with his wife Andrea and three children Jackson(5), Peyton(4) and Colt(1).
